On a day that started like any other, Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, admiring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. In an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the only decision she has left. It is the most important decision she'll ever make.

Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting, and ultimately uplifting story about memory, music, living, dying, loving

It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I StayWhere She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
My Review:
I am just going to start off by saying I really didn't enjoy these books. Yes I said it, I didn't like them. I wasn't attached to the characters is any way. In my opinion really nothing happened in either book. This could have just been one book! There was no need for there to be two of them. Without having spoilers I can't go into detail on the things I didn't like about the books. I will say that the first is better than the second. I feel like the second book is basically the same book as the first just from a different perspective. No she doesn't almost die in the second book but in the foundation they are the same story. This is the biggest problem I have with the stories. I wanted something more and they just fell flat.

  1. I can't believe this duology isn't as good as most readers make it out to be. At least I saw the movie so I know what happens in book one. For the most part, the dozen of kissing scenes ended up getting old and my friend kept groaning too. I couldn't blame her. I was internally groaning and rolling my eyes too. But overall the story was pretty good. I'm pretty sure they took off the excess scenes from the book to keep the pace going steadily and I liked the end result of the movie. Just wish it didn't end with her opening her eyes...that's been done a couple times already in other movies and it's getting old too. I'm thinking I'm going to put off reading these books for a while. I don't want to get back into a reading slump after the last one...good review though Tayler! :D

  2. I am hoping to watch the movie. Hopefully I will enjoy it more than the books. I definitely would not read them anytime soon and not back to back. They put me into a reading slump. I am thinking about trying another one of her duologies. Just one day and just one year. I hope I will like it more.

    1. I think you'll like the movie a lot more ;) Also, thanks for letting me know that reading them back to back wouldn't be doing me any favors. I remember I saw them at the store a while ago and was so close to buying them. But then I had this feeling that I shouldn't so I didn't. I'm kind of glad I didn't get them that time. I would probably have wasted time trying to like both books and ending up not loving them at all. I really hope you like that duology more! I'll definitely be looking for those reviews ^_^ That's one series I feel like I DO want to read :D
