Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hairactually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

My Review:

I love this world. I love these characters. The imagination of Laini Taylor is amazing. I am in awe of the world she created. The writing in this story is so good, Laini Taylor does some amazing things with words. Its beautiful. As for the story itself. I really liked the story. The first half and second half of this book seem very different from either but it works. This being a series it always takes some backstory until we can get to the really good stuff. Im so excited to continue on with this series. I just can't say enough how much I really love it. If you haven't read it get, go buy it and start it.

My Rating:

  1. I have this series but I still have yet to read it!
I'll start it next, thanks for the encouragement :) xx

  2. I haven't read this series yet and I don't own the books either. The good thing is that all the books have been released so if I ever buy them, I can also binge read the whole series! YAY! I can't wait to see what more you have to say about the rest of the series. I hope it just keeps getting better and better :)
